Welcome to Krazystitches!
Here you’ll find yourself buried in all things to do with knitting, crochet and needlework. To tell you I like to knit is an understatement. Whenever I get a few spare seconds I’ll be sitting there with my knitting needles in one hand and a cup of tea in the other piecing together my next masterpiece.
Although i’m a full time mum to a beautiful 7 month little girl, finding the time to let my hair down and get creative is difficult but I manage to multi-task. I only discovered knitting in April 2013 due to my mother in law finding an old project she’d “stored away for a rainy day.” After seeing the beginning of the blanket I was hooked. I bought some yarn & needles, sat down and let my fingers do the rest.
From the moment I got going, I knew I was a knitter. It wasn’t as easy as I anticipated it being, I was starting to understand why my mother in law’s project was abandoned. But after several million attempts I did it, I finally had my very first row of the basic knit stitch. I was so proud. I’d done it. I have no idea how many tears were shed just to get that very first row. But from then on I was a pro, learning new stitches, buying bigger needles and different yarns. Even learning how to make a knitting chart. (Which I suppose is easy but it took a hell of a long time, with all the sizing and colours!) As my knowledge of knitting increases I’m holding back some of the beginning information because when my little girl is older (alot older) I’d love for her and I to finish projects together. Whether we’re indoors or out on the pebble beach. It’ll still be something we share.
My next hurdle is crochet. Those dreaded hooks. I’m too much of a determined soul to give up! I’ll eventually tackle it, but at the moment crochet has – lets just say more than 1 – point up on me. As I find time to knit I also find a little time once/twice a week to come on here and post something i’ve learnt or created. So stick around you might learn something new.
